My Man and I made a reservation at this incredible spot weeks before we even planned to be south-bound,  anticipation got the best of us.  We read off the menu items to each other, practically shouting when we stumbled upon something that sounded delectable.

Weeks later, When we finally made it to Savannah, we checked into an adorable victorian BnB & headed straight for Starland.  We snagged a drink at a neighboring spot and started down the main drag, killing time until our table was ready.

When the clock struck 8, we grabbed a seat at the bar.  And I mean, What a bar.  Polished concrete countertops, illuminated liqueurs & an excellent array of IPA’s.   Getting hungrier by the sip, we settled in at our table, which was adorned with local cookbooks to read by candlelight.  Already knowing the menu, we dove right into the prix fixe, alternating our selections so we could try a little bit of everything.   I wont get into the details (to avoid drooling) but, the rest of the evening involved calamari, pickled veggies, duck breast and a pasta dish, that I *quite literally* shed a tear over.  Even if you find yourself confined to East Bay, this spot is SO worth the uber into Starland.  One day I’ll get around to doing a full post on the area, because it really is marvelous.  Until then! Get yourself a table at The Florence.
