Here’s What you’ll need:
For the Cake:
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp ground grahm crackers
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp dark brown sugar
- 3 tbsp milk
- ½ tbsp vegetable oil
- ¼ tsp ground ginger
- ⅛ tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tbsp honey
- Pinch of salt
For the Apples:
- 2 cups of largely diced apples
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 cup cane sugar
- 1/4 local honey
Here’s what to do:
- To start the cake batter, combine all ingredients and whisk until batter is smooth. Butter a small cast iron skillet and spread batter evenly.
- Sautée apples with butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and spice. Cook for 20 minutes and add honey last. Layer cooked apples over top of batter.
- Sprinkle slivered almonds and brown sugar over top.
- Bake for 18 minutes for 350. Top with a thick drizzle of honey. Allow a few moments to cool before serving.
