All season long I seek out the things that bring me comfort & enhance the Auburn world outside. Hot Cider is one of those autumnal staples that I just can’t go a year without. This recipe is something my beau & I whipped up for a golden afternoon with friends. We sipped spicy sips & embraced the chilly winds that kissed our cheeks. This rendition of a fall favorite is sweet, spicy & tart, a balanced drink for every palette.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- 1/2 gallon organic apple cider
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh ginger
- 1/2 tablespoon dried orange peel
- 1/4 tablespoon cardamom
- 1/4 cup chai tea blend
- A pinch of Allspice
Bring your cider to a slow boil and add the spices, tea, and ginger, and orange peels. Reduce the heat to medium, and let it brew for 20 minutes. Pour into a thermos and take a batch with you on an autumn hike, or save some for the evening around a bonfire.
