Cinnamon-Apple Crisp with Honey Almond Crumble


Here’s What you’ll need:
For the Cake
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp ground grahm crackers
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp dark brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • ½ tbsp vegetable oil
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger
  • ⅛ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tbsp honey
  • Pinch of salt
For the Apples:
  • 2 cups of largely diced apples
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 cup cane sugar
  • 1/4 local honey
Here’s what to do: 
  1. To start the cake batter, combine all ingredients and whisk until batter is smooth. Butter a small cast iron skillet and spread batter evenly.
  2.  Sautée apples with butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and spice.  Cook for 20 minutes and add honey last.   Layer cooked apples over top of batter.
  3. Sprinkle slivered almonds and brown sugar over top.
  4. Bake for 18 minutes for 350. Top with a thick drizzle of honey. Allow a few moments to cool before serving.
