Local Spotlight: Lunch at Franktuary

A local spot in the heart of lower Lawrenceville is revolutionizing the hot dog game, and I can’t stay away.  From its rustic, bohemian bar with homemade root beer on tap, to the fresh-fried, chocolate and pecan funnel cake, It’s become my go-to indulgence. I usually get the hand-cut fries, Pierogies, or a classic dog like the one I snapped a picture of last visit. My new favorite, however, is the Milano: Grass-fed beef-dog with prosciutto, ricotta, and onion marmalade.  w o w.   As if the bites weren’t reason enough to add ’em to your to-do list, their philosophy on food is spot-on. A menu composed of grass-fed and humanely raised meat, specialty sausages and offering vegetarian and gluten-free options.  There’s also a stellar selection of local draft beer and the best frankfurters in western Pennsylvania.

For delicious grub, craft brews, and stellar sweets, Check them out at 3810 Butler Street Pittsburgh, 15201  or follow their food truck!
